OUR STORY
Did you know?
Did you know the YoYogurt original owners grew up right here in Colorado Springs?
That's right! Liz Johnson (formerly Liz Grzecka), Amanda Ralston (also a Grzecka), and Nic Grzecka spent their childhood years near Fountain. In 1981, their father, Jeff Grzecka, CMSGT (R), USAF, and mother, Teresa Grzecka (who happens to be the General Manager in Uintah Gardens) moved the kids from California to Colorado, where they attended Sunrise Elementary School and Janitell Middle School. Their grandma and aunt Barb Lombardo still live in the Sunrise Ridge area.
Although the Grzecka's have moved to various parts of Colorado Springs, the Fountain/Security community remains dear to them. Their newest location is in Mesa Ridge, near Fountain, so they can stay connected to their childhood community.
The Grzecka family thanks you for your support in making YoYogurt the huge success it is!

In 1977, then Airman Basic Jeffery G. Grzecka enlisted in the USAF. Throughout his 26 years in the USAF Airman Basic Grzecka rose to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt).
His positive attitude and strong work ethic were instrumental in the success of his military and civilian careers. He instilled these same positive values into his children.
In November 2010, CMSgt(R) Grzecka was diagnosed with cholongiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). When he received his diagnosis from the doctor, his reply was, "It's all good." This continued to be his motto as he fought the disease like the champion he was until November 28, 2011, when he went to be with our Heavenly Father. Until the day he died, CMSgt Grzecka's positive attitude persevered. No matter the circumstance or how bad he felt, his response was always, "It's all good."
We at YoYogurt ask you to remember, regardless of the situation, “It’s all good!”
Supplement added by the new owners:
Earlier this year, mid-2015, after her own bout with cancer, Liz Johnson (formerly Liz Grzecka) also fought the disease like the champion but also passed away far before her time.
An excerpt from her obituary: The challenges of the last years of Liz's life were incomprehensible to most, but she remained unbreakable through it all. She will be missed by so many and we are all better for having known her. So we celebrate her life, the way she would have wanted us to. She is finally at peace. Her body, mind and soul are free of pain, and now she dances with her daddy in heaven. - See more here.
Within a few months the family decided to allow their YoYogurt dream and ultimately their YoYogurt creation to live on but now with new group of dreamers and each location was sold to separate buyers.
Here at YoYogurt Uintah Gardens, having the privilege to briefly knowing Liz and a few other members of the Grzecka family, feel it’s more than appropriate, in fact it’s our honor to also “ask you to remember, regardless of the situation, “It’s all good!”
The YoYogurt dream continues at Uintah Gardens
